Tim currently serves as CEO and founder of Nexus3 Capital, an investment company driving innovation in generative AI. Nexus3 Capital focuses on transformative enterprise SaaS solutions, specializing in large language models, advanced neural networks, and data analytics to unlock major opportunities within vertical markets.
Tim Stojka is an accomplished technology CEO and entrepreneur, known for founding and scaling three successful technology companies.Most recently, he was Chairman, CEO, and founder of Agentis Energy, a Chicago-based pioneer in Smart Grid technology that provides a SaaS platform for energy data analytics. Under his leadership, Agentis partnered with leading energy providers, including Exelon, PG&E, and FP&L, to serve over five million business customers across North America, culminating in a successful exit in 2021.
He is also the co-founder and a board member of Sertifi Inc., a top provider of signature and payment technology for the hospitality industry, serving over 24,000 hotels across North America. His earlier ventures include co-founding CommerxTM, a trailblazer in B2B SaaS and marketplace software for the e-commerce market. As CEO, he guided Commerx’s product and growth strategies, leading to three successful capital raises totaling over $70 million and positioning the company as a leader in Web-hosted e-procurement and supply chain solutions. In 2000, Tim and Commerx were honored in Washington, D.C., by the Smithsonian Institution with the Smithsonian Technology Award for Innovation.
Recognized as an industry thought leader, Tim has been featured in major business publications like Business Week, Fortune, Forbes, Crain’s Chicago Business, and Business 2.0. He was named one of 25 “E-Champions” by BtoB magazine and was a finalist for the Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year award.
In addition to his business pursuits, Tim is an active leader in numerous business and civic organizations. He serves on the boards of the Chief Executives Organization, Northwestern University’s McCormick School of Engineering, Evergreen Climate Innovations (a Climatetech venture fund), the Farley Center for Entrepreneurship at Northwestern University, and the Young Presidents Organization (YPO). He is also a member of the Board of Trustees at Illinois Institute of Technology. Additionally, he has served in various roles within YPO, including as Chairman of the Chicago Chapter, and holds memberships in the Economic Club of Chicago and the Executives Club of Chicago. In 2021, he was honored as the commencement speaker at Northwestern’s McCormick School of Engineering.
Tim holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Northwestern University and an Executive MBA from Harvard Business School. He resides in Oak Brook, Illinois, and Naples, Florida, with his wife Effie and their three children, John, Elena, and Gracie.
